May 2008
Well the weather has certainly warmed up, at last we are basking in glorious sunshine here in Cheshire.
Good News! We have been nominated for 'Visit Chester B & B of the Year 2008' which we were very pleased about, the awards evening is 6th June so we are in for a busy week with the AA Awards for 'AA Friendlist Landlady of the Year' luncheon on the 4th too! So please check our website after the 6th June and hopefully we will be celebrating!!
Today we took delivery of two cows and their calves from a local farmer to help eat some of our grass, needless to say William (son aged 7 years - if you haven't stayed with us before) is extremely excited as he continues to tell us daily that he is going to be a farmer when he grows up! A couple of weeks ago another local farmer brought four sheep up to help graze the grass in the chicken run as usually Nick has to top it during the Summer months so we have a wider selection of animals this year on site.
I think all our Swallows and House Martins are back from their Winter abroad as our yard and buildings are very busy with nests being built in all the usual places. I think it is amazing that they return year after year to the same nests. Our new lawn is greening up, although it did get caught by torential downpours just after the seed had been spread so it is a little patchy at the moment!
So life is carrying on in the usual busy way and hopefully as you are reading this you have either stayed with us before or are planning to come and stay in our home - we look forward to hopefully meeting you soon and sharing our home!
